Manual or Automatic trans?

OK, I’m sure the pros and cons of auto vs manual has been discussed before. I’m coming from a straight axel manual Samurai. I realize with the rarity of old straight axel Toyota trucks I won’t be getting one of those so I have resolved myself to the Tacoma IFS. I also realize the Tacoma manual trans is getting rare as well so I’d like to hear just how steady the Tacoma auto trans is when put into the low gears. Can it keep a low speed, crawl, not over run, does the converter lock up, etc.? Just how does it handle in technical off roading?
 
I have a manual and have no complaints.
I had to order it and wait a few months. They build them in batches, after receiving a certain number of orders.

I can't comment on technical off-roading. I've not done any.
If you enjoy shifting, order one while you can.
 
The 2016+ off roads have the crawl control in auto only and they do well with tech off road. That’s the only model and years I would get an auto in.
Id get a manual on any other year or model for the control you want.
