My truck won't turn on! Help!

I have a 2001 tacoma ext can prerunner.

So I was driving at 30 mph and then suddenly my rpm went all the way down to 0 while I was driving and my acceleration wouldn't work, all I could do was brake and stop in the middle of the road. The check engine light went on and battery and oil light. Turned off my truck and couldn't turn it back on. Got it towed to my house.

My truck would crank but won't start. It's not the fuel filter cause I replaced it already, it has fuel, new battery. I don't know what's wrong with it.

Anybody got some suggestions?

Does it crank different like if the starter isn't working hard?

Sometimes I hear the regular crank noise, and sometimes I hear like a one pitch long noise.

Just got a mechanic check it out and he doesn't know what the problem is either.
