    Evening, all!

A 'yota dealership by me had a 2007 Maroon Taco show up as a trade-in one day and has only 42,000 miles.
By the time I got down there to take a look, someone else had absconded with it for a day-long test drive.

It's a kid looking to buy it through financing.. but he's only got 800 as a down. Used car manager doesn't think the family's going to be able to get the 3200 additional they want to see to even try and finance a 13 year old truck.

Me, I show up with checkbook in hand.. and the amount already filled in. If 10am comes by, and they can't get the cabbage together, then I come in behind them and drive off with a Taco!

All that aside, and I KNOW this is probably a very silly question.. I'm assuming that 10k for a 2007 Taco with only 42,000 miles is an absurdly good deal, yes?

She's the 4 cylinder 2.7 liter with an automatic. No cruise control, nor power windows or doors. I'm fine with that, honestly. More to tinker with later, is how I see it. Oh, also is the standard cab. The 4-door types aren't my thing, you know?

    So! What'cha think? Good deal?
I'll be searching for recommended tires and tool-boxes (don't want to ask without searching the forums first), but if you've any off-the-cuff favorites, I'd love to hear them.

    Cheers, all!

8,300 would be a fair market deal. If it was double cab and V 6 then the 10 would be reasonable. That's just me and I'm cheap. Make them deal to a cash offer. That worth $$$$.

    Hey, B-Man!

Very well maintained. There's full records of all the oil changes.. the battery replaced last year. Always done at the Dearship (Either Hibbard Toyota or Nashville Toyota North).
No rust.. I checked, and there's no open recalls. I think this dates from the era when there were a buncha Tacos with rotting frames, but this is a Tennessee truck so will probably outlast me.

That said, I'm still going to run her through the basics.. Trans fluid flush and fill, replace the thermostat due to age... at least flush out the brake lines with new fluid. Look at the calipers/drums to see how they're doing, and the like.
But with only 42k miles, I can't imagine it actually needing too much. Possibly tires, due to age but that's about it.

That said, I'm always open to suggestions!

Depending what state its been owned in, rust would be the first thing to look for. A previous neighbor here in connecticut had an 03 tacoma...by 08 the frame was so bad the truck was bought back by toyota.

    Welcome to the forum. :)
If it’s 4wd that’s not a bad price. Seems about right on price from a dealer for a 2.7L auto single cab base model with the low miles like that. Those 2.7L will last 300k miles if maintained. Good idea to drain and fill all fluids. The auto Tran I’m not a fan of. It’s a slug when paired with the 2.7. You won’t be winning any races with it haha. :D

So it’s 10am did you go get it?
    Let’s see some picture.
