what are these things called they’re like clips almost but the screws go into them I noticed one part of my truck didn’t have them on the right side fender and it was impossible to screw back into

I've seen these retainers in various sizes at auto parts stores, maybe they can be found there.

they can be found there or online
they will work but are much more flimsy plastic ends than OEM in my experiences
if it matters at all or none

I never buy that stuff online unless having a part number. I usually try a local auto parts store with one of the old ones first, and match them up.

i bot a bunch of the grommets off amazon made in china

they worked ok for the most part but you could definitely tell they were not of oem quality grommets

I've bought better more durable nylon fasteners as such for my tundra at auto parts, after the originals weather rotted out. They were harder to install, but once in place they held up well.
I even picked up some for my snowmobile windshield from the same store after the originals broke trying to remove them.
