Stock SR Wheels with upgraded tires

Has anyone attempted to put larger or better tires on a 2018 SR Stock wheel.

I have seen where some people recommend bfg km3...

Also has anyone attempted to paint these wheels black or anything. Please post pics if you have tried this.

People paint wheels all the time. 265/70/17 or 265/75/16 is the biggest you’ll be able to fit on stock wheels.

I painted my stock SR wheels black with Duplicolor wheel paint that I purchased at Auto Zone. I took each wheel off the truck, washed, and then wiped them down with mineral spirits. I laid them flat on the ground and taped together a bunch of index cards that I stuck between the rim and tire. Then I put on about 4 light coats of paint per wheel. It’s been about 6 months and they look as good as day 1. I’m running 265/75/16 Goodyear Duratrac tires load C. They are much louder than the stock tires and it’s cost me about 2mpg. Speedometer is still accurate. Performance off-road has been good and so far I’d buy these tires again.
