the climate crisis...

It's so dry here
No rain for weeks to months
Leaves falling off trees so dry they turn to dust on ground in short time

Suppose to rain again Friday. Been cold in the low 20's at night, high of 40 the last few days. Going to near 60 Thursday.
Brandon today says the climate is our number1 threat, worst than a world war.

7" below normal precip on the year here on the big river ... 2nd year in a row with that kind of deficit
Stupid farmers plowing the damned dry fields and the dust is choking

Not so stupid.

The plowed field will absorb water/snow melt more effectively.

Water tends to run off hard pan.

Had enough issues here with rain this year. I had curtain drains dug around my entire house to help take some of this excess water we've been getting away.

Right now my yard is a muddy swamp. The guys have seeded it, and placed straw over everything, but I can't even walk out to my truck without tracking in mud in the cab, or the house.

Mix in a couple of dump truck loads of sand when its wet. Then when the sun returns to dry it out......you won't need to worry about grass.

Lakes around this area are 6+ feet below conservation pool level.

Need weeks of rain just to make back to pool level.

I suspect next summer will be H2O rationing.
