Traction Control/LSD Modes 2015 Prerunner

Yes, I RTFM. My '15 Prerunner 2wd V6 auto has an "LSD" and "Traction Control". Following the manual, depressing the button on the dash turns the traction control off and turns on the LSD. It is my understanding that the "LSD" is not actually a limited slip differential, but is actually a simulation utilizing the braking system. Isn't this what the traction control is? Traction control, AFAIK, is the application of the brake to the spinning wheel to transfer torque to the wheel with better traction.

So, what is the difference between these two modes and which mode is better for what? The manual describes how to change modes, but doesn't suggest when you would be better off with with one mode or the other.

Thanks folks.

I just hold the button down until it says "Trac off". I hate when I try to take off and it brakes on me while I'm trying to get into traffic.
Even in the wet I turn it off.
I can shake the rear tires loose and still keep it going straight.

So, that turns both off. Good to know. I'll try that out too.
