$390 is actually cheap compared to some of the others. The Banks kit I had was almost $600 but I let it go for a TRD exhaust.
You can always have someone just weld a new muffler in place of the stock one.

Catbacks give very little performance anyway. You get more sound than anything.

Probably closer to 5 at high RPM. It's nothing you will really notice. Modern cars aren't all that choked up as they used to be.
Get a muffler u like the sound of.
U already have mandrel bent tubing, the size difference is probably minor.
People hold on to this "trd knows toyota the best" logic.
NO, they do not.... i can prove it. Toyota hands out contracts to actual manufacturers and has the trd logo stamped, etched, milled, whatever into someone elses product.
Fwiw, bosal makes the "trd" catback.
K&n make the flawed newer "trd" intake for 2nd gens
AFE made the older unflawed "trd" intake
Eaton and Magnuson made the "trd" superchargers and fitkit.
Bilstein makes the "trd" sport, offroad, txbro, baja struts
Eibach makes the baja coils
This is all related to the 2nd gen tacomas atleast.
