How long does it normally take these v6 engines to warm up before the trucks heater starts producing some warm air? In the fall when outside temps were in the 30-40f degree area, the time it took for heat seem normal. Now that its been in the teens a couple mornings it takes forever. My 4.7 tundra was never like this. I can drive this tacoma 15 minutes before the cab gets starts getting warm...just doesn't seem normal these trucks would be that cold blooded.

Is that when outside temps are in the teens? I get that around 30-35 f or so.

Yes, in fact started the Taco yesterday am 'bout 4:30am.......was 10°.......let it run 'bout 5 mins and was 'bout 4:35am when I backed out of the driveway and had warm air blowing.....temp gauge was at the bottom yet on 'cold'.

Love my remote start.........except when you open the door before the 15 minutes are up and it shuts off. They can put a rover on Mars and beam back video but they can't get a remote start to work the way you want it to! LOLRemote starter?
No way would my truck throw out any heat in 5 minutes at those temps....more like 15 min. I'll agree the temp gauge seems to take way longer before it reads mid-way. I can drive 5 miles into town before the gauge reads normal engine temps.

Wonder if Toyota changed the thermostat temp from my '17 to your year????
Who, knows except its the most cold blooded toyota pickup i've ever had. When the heat does come on it doesn't take long to heat the cab up. In fact my brother was in the truck during one ride, and commented how hot the truck became. Had to turn the heat down some. My tundra was quicker but never would throw as much hot air.

Make sure you're air control is on recirculation and not fresh air. Warming prewarmed air will heat up faster and hotter than warming cold outside air.
Maybe you have something. Although i never had the issue with my tundra in the fresh mode.
