there's just too many products out there to choose

What do use and how does it work for you?

I've tried several and don't really like any of them 110%

So I Ordered a new-to-me degreaser used on bicycles called white lightning to see how it goes or doesn't go

I've used S100 cycle cleaner, and simple green. Let them sit for a few minutes then pressure wash it off. Either one has worked pretty good.

I've heard that Purple Power is good for this task.

Although, I have never degreased an engine. I certainly wouldn't go at it with pressure washer. Those machines have a nasty tendency to force water and schmutz into places where the mess shouldn't be.

I don't see the advantage of degreasing the engine. Perhaps a clean engine is good for bro points.

Use what method you feel is best.

it would be much much better and cleaner to use a dry-ice blaster but Wo_OW the cost on that equipment + media for the DIYr or have it done by a 'pro' for 700$+

I never got up close with the pressure washer wand. I've use the fine spray from it just rinsing the cleaner off. You just try to avoid getting water where its not suppose to be.

Ok.....so basically avoid anything under the hood. Too many electrical connections that don't like water under there.

Your choice. Not my choice.

Made servicing stuff like cleaning the throttle body, and replacing the plugs a lot cleaner. Only cleaned the engine area a couple times. One other time to repaint the battery tray area. Never had an issue. You pick a nice hot summer day for it.

My degreasing projects on truck and car will be from underneath mostly
Water wash/rinse of any sort I am trying to get away from, because I don't wish to get soaked like I do rinsing the salt off underneath the truck on a warmish day above freezing lol

Idk, about this purple power stuff, but that white lightning chit could take the paint off it.
