You'll know it when you have a ball joint failure like in the video, plus if an everyday driver, you got to know when to hold them, and when to fold them when it comes to those old trucks, or they will nickel, and dime you till your broke, or on foot.:(

Back in the day toyota had some bad runs with the lower ball joint supplier they used. Earlier tundra's as my 2001 weren't effected, but later year certain serial numbered gen1's had a recall on this. I think it mostly affected a bunch of 2002, and 03 trucks.

That happens nearly every year 300-400 miles west of me when Great Lakes water is warmer than the air surface above. All I seen here so far is a light dusting of snow, and intermittent flurries. Been getting colder for sure. 50 miles north in ma., they got a few inches of snow.

You are aware if a pin shears in that vvti gear assembly , your engine will grenade if you keep running it this way.

Could be anything at this point to a broken wire/bad ground, open fuse, switch's, etc., or a combination of things Gotta start measuring for voltages going to those places where your losing it.

I guess they're shotgunning the entire cam/vvt-i gear assembly out. Its usually an actuator issue, but thats one nearly sure way of fixing it.
