2022 TRD Crawl Control Question

I have a 2022 TRD with MTS/Crawl Control. When I engage it, it sounds like the truck is going to explode! I've used it only twice. Once on a flat dirt road and on a muddy hill climb and it still quite noisy. I've heard some say it's normal, but I've watched dozens of you tube videos and only found a few trucks that sound as bad as mine. Here's my question and I may already know the answer but need some expert answers. The truck has street tires one the front and all terrain tires on the back! Is THAT why I'm hearing all the noise? Thanks for your time!

I heard at the time I bought my 2020 sr5 guys were complaining crawl control didn't work like intended. I had thought toyota had worked the bugs out of it by 2022. At any rate I don't do any serious off road anymore to need those extra functions. My sr5 4wd engages, and disengages slick as goose poop on a wet lawn....same for 4lo....no noises at all.
Being still in warranty, you could take it back to the dealer, and let them check it out.

Thank you! Definitely going to do that! Does your crack/pop and lurch when you use crawl?

I have an sr5 like I posted above. It doesn't have the crawl control function....it's not a trd trim. Too many guys buy those trd's when most will never do any real off-roading, just seeing dirt roads at best. Toyota has had a record of more drivetrain related issues with those trd's than other lesser trims. If you absolutely don't need those functions, imo, the sr, or sr5 4wd will do everything you'll ever need, and without those issues.

OK, thanks for your input! Since I already own the truck, my original question was pertaining to crawl control and specifically if having HT tires on the front and AT on the back would affect it, so I'm, hoping to get some feedback from people that have some expertise with that function.

Mix matching tires on a 4wd truck as such is asking for a weird issue, especially if not 100% the same size, and not all radial tire brands are manufactured the same exact size as they claim to be. I hope your not trying crawl control while turning on an asphalt road...thats like begging to break something.

I know that. Nope not on asphalt (if you read my comment above... "once on a flat dirt road and on a muddy hill climb"), and they're exactly the same size but since you don't have crawl control, you're just guessing. Again, I am waiting for someone who has CC to weigh in. Thanks though!
