I've been stuck in line at the ny/quebec border a 1/2 mile away at times when you arrive around noon up there. After 2 hrs of stop, and go at a parking lot speed, we finally pulled into customs. I swear I burned nearly a 1/4 tank of gas when I owned my tundra while sitting there.
When I had those manual toyota pickup's pulling a 2 place open sled trailer stuck at the same crossing, I smelt my clutch burning from so much stop, and go use. Those auto's were a game changer.

I'm very doubtful if the trailers have a transmission of any sort, either AT or MT
