Bed Liner/Rubber Mat Question

I just purchased a 2021 Tacoma yesterday. The dealer threw in on the deal a Toyota rubber mat for the six foot bed. (which I wanted)

My question. I was thinking could there be a possible future moisture issue with that rubber mat sitting on top of the factory bed liner? One wouldn't think so and I didn't think to ask one of their car techs. But moisture and time itself could have some type of effect. I wouldn't think rust could develop. Maybe a staining (color issue) between the two? ?

I figure many owners out in "Tacoma land" has had the same set up for years and can give me the answer. Thanks!

If you look at the composite bed you’ll notice it’s ribbed…for her pleasure. This allows air flow under the mat. There’s also drain holes in the front of the bed to release water. I recommend putting a small hole through the mat and using the center drain hole to put a bolt through. This is to prevent a quick snatch and grab theft. I said snatch. A wrench is then needed to take it in and out.

Yeah, I just discovered that. Wasn't sure what to expect from the composite bed.
Looks like a good idea. I'll probably get the Toyota one caus I like the big logo. Then I'm planning a speaker upgrade. Maybe an amp if it can be hid out of sight.
what does the big logo look like?

outside of a few dirt spots from collected water that eventually dries up....I wouldn't worry about it a 6 month clean out should take care of anything residual from a season of whatever. My biggest concern was it flying out the back from wind, but it seemed heavy enough so that was unlikely.

do you know if the Gen3 has a different composite surface than Gen2
something that resists heavy scratches, which the Gen2 does not seem to IME

No I hadn't , but then I didn't mention scratches to the gen 3 bed either. My truck will be mine in a few days , so my post was from just a walk thru inspection before I put a deposit on her.

I'm thinking about getting the mat. I'm new to Tacoma's, and heard the composite bet is quite slippery when wet.
EXTREMELY slippery when wet!! I fell on my ass when I was moving things around in the back of my Tacoma once (while my friends laughed their asses off AND THEN said “hey? You ok”? So yeah.. I’d definitely tell anyone to get the bed mat, it really helps a lot with keeping stuff from sliding on the composite bed and gives you more traction when walking around back their if it’s wet.
