Does anybody have a CB radio? What brand did you get and why?

No CB just GMRS. Midland MxT275. Plan on running CB handheld for groups running cb comms.

Hehe I’m an old soul. It came out a few years before I was around but I enjoy the classics. Music, Film, Cars etc...

i would totally get a cb radio in my truck if not for that reason.

Back in the day I had a CB in my El Camino with one of those 8 foot whip antenna. Had a skull and cross bones flag on top.[emoji41]

Uniden Pro520XL Cheap, small. tough, easy to "tune". I have been through a few high dollar feature packed units but they all have died an early death. My Uniden was always my spare until i figured out that it was a great radio and should be my full time rig. I catch some grief from guys on the trails but at 12 years old it is the ugliest but best sounding radio in the group. If you just want to communicate and don't need all the toys then the Uniden Pro 520XL is your radio. (if you buy from Bells CB online you can have it "tuned" before you even open the box!

I just want to hear people talking on the road. Once I set it up, will I have to retune it? I'm thinking of placing the box under the seat or under the dash.

What about the antenna? is there a short one I can use?

I wonder how much distance and quality I would lose if I placed it in the cargo area horizontally?
