Strange, I had a gen1 tundra just short of 300k miles, and never received any headlight damage not even a scratch. The lens did become oxidized badly over time that I had to keep restoring them. Question is, do they prevent that? This stuff pictured looks like it would cut back on the lighting your headlight projects....not good imo. I don't even know if they're legal for use in our state. State is pretty adamant whats legal for use on a vehicle like type of lens, and window tint.

Headlight assemblies are commonly made from an extremely high strength plastic frequently known as Lexan (polycarbonate).

This material is used in canopies of fighter jets and often is used in bullet proof applications and safety glasses.

Frankly, there really isn't a need for an additional stick on thin film.

Save your coin fellows.

I could see this type film for your vehicles exterior paint protection. You can get a professional ceramic hard glass coating like I did to protect your paint. Going on 5 years and not a single issue yet, and toyota is known for crappy paint jobs.

Good point about the headlight material being strong enough to withstand scratches. Maybe this film is more for peace of mind than actual protection.

Yeah, like some on tw claim you should change your motor oil every 1k miles is for peace of mind if nothing else.

Wow, a tough crowd. I'll go with the "peace of mind." I had earlier lens experiences with scratching and loosing transparency from sand and grit.

I guess it depends where you are located. Peace of mine is like taking a laxative every day so you don't end up constipated.
