I put a cold air intake on mine as well as a fuel chip AND a fuel compact computer to get better fuel mileage. Yeah, nothing works I'm getting worse gas mileage on the highway. How's that possible. I try not to go above 50. I can watch my gas gauge drop and drop over 55. Forget road trips, every 100 miles I'll be filling up..... stinks to be me.
I am about the same I lose MPG when going off pavement, but that's to be expected. Why top tier gas? I did not think high octane was needed for Taco engines. My 19 taco v6 with 7000 mikes on it averages 21.8 to 22.4 from tank to tank. The only time ive seen below 20 on a daily trip was if I got stuck in a drive thru too long. Top tier gas only, only mod is a k& n drop in air filter.
I posted one in another thread somewhere where I kinda did that, filled up and drove 30 miles downhill... think it said 38mpg or so... [emoji23]I'm not saying that the above poster did this, but I can show my truck getting 40+ mpg. Run the truck until you have about a quarter tank of gas or less. Get $5 worth of gas. This resets the mpg per tank to zero. Find a flat road with no traffic and go 40-45 mpg for about half an hour, then slowly accelerate to 60-65 mph and remove your foot from the accelerator and allow the vehicle to coast to a stop (or 5 or 10 mph). Instant 40+ mph.
this don't mean **** when your gas gage reads full
