Heater core

My heater core went out in my 04 tacoma and my brother has a 2002 4runner that he is parting out will the heater core out of the 02 4runner fit my 04 tacoma? Also how can I check to see if the heatercore in the 02 4runer is good or not before I rip my dash apart?

Some things are just better to buy new. It's a fairly involved job to change it in the first place so it's worth the piece of mind to have a NEW heater core...
 
1998 Toyota Tacoma leaking exterior passenger side & interior passenger side floor board wet, can it be anything else besides heater core? If not any discount websites for a new toyota heater core?
 
Buy a good brand of heater core. There a pain in the butt to change. Heater core sounds like it’s leaking. Does the floor board smell like antifreeze? Sweet smell? Are you losing coolant?
 
Not losing antifreeze, but I stopped driving, do you know of any discount toyota websites, only spectra premium comes up as a option locally.
