HELP!! 2003 2.4 - Where the heck is my EGR valve???

Was throwing a code that my EGR valve modulator was wonky.. so I pick one up, lift the hood to replace it, and umm… is it gone??? Hiding.. so much for easy. lol

Was idling rough, power surges.. blinking CEL on highway..

So, the coils and plugs are new, the head was just resurfaced, gasket replaced… new bolts, new hoses, radiator, O2 sensor, camshaft sensor, water pump, temp sensor, t-stat.. all recently replaced..

sorry I’m lost.

There's way too much intake stuff in the way to see anything. Thats all got be removed. If it still can't be found, don't worry toyota likely didn't use one for this engine.

Actually, it’s what you said last. I just found out that in O2 or 03 they went away from the EGR. I think it might be the idle air control valve. There was a note on my receipt when I had some work done that it wasn’t operating consistently. So I’m gonna run it in and have them look at that since the symptoms are similar to what I’m seeing.. Kind of flying by the seat of my pants here but that’s OK lol
 
I thought the 2.7, and 3.4 both had egr valves those years. Haven't seen enough 2.4 engines to say one way, or another.
As far as the issues on your engine...could be a bunch of things at that age. Need to see a cel code to narrow it down.
