No. If you intend to crank your 3 inch lift until you max out the CVs then you should look at a DB lift. It drops the diff safely but you lose ground clearance.
New Taco owner here from TX and this seems like a good topic for me to ask my questions about lift kits. I have a 2014 Double Cab TRD Offroad 4X4 in black, and I just love it. Had black raptor side step bars when I bought it, since added a black bullbar, love the look and ready for adding a little bit of lift now. Not planning on serious offroading, just would like the truck to sit a little higher to improve the look even more.
I bought a 2" spacer lift kit a few weeks back, but still to fit it, and in fact since reading all the forum chat, y'all have really turned me off the front strut spacers so I'm now looking at the Bilstein 5100 adj shocks in front. I am still planning to fit the rear blocks though, I'm not wasting all that cash.
Anyway, couple of questions for y'all and I'd really appreciate the help.
1. Planning on the 1.75" setting for the 5100s, but will that provide a decent front lift height bearing in mind I already have upgraded Bilstein shocks on my TRD?
2. Any detrimental effect on the ride (or more importantly, the balljoints, CV joints etc.) from this modification, especially if I were to go the full 2.5" height adjustment possible?
3. Do I still need to use my Diff drop spacers if I am using 5100s instead of strut spacers?
Is anyone running these coilovers? I'm lookin for some opinions on them b4 I order. What do you guys think about em? https://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com/mobile/product.asp?itemid=355
