No shortage of them this winter....so BEWARE. Today this guy comes knocking on my door telling me he represents our electric power company, so I ask him what he wants. He tells me the power company is changing over their analog meters for digital ones, and that the power company will only pay for 1/2 the cost for the installation, and exchange. He pulls out a notebook saying I will get a discount if I pay the other half right now....just sign this form, and you'll be reimbursed with a check in the mail. In the meantime he shows me this home improvement card I've never heard of how he represents our electric provider. At this point I tell him basically to get lost...I'll need some time to think about it, while not wasting anymore of your time.
Later I call my electric power company this afternoon to ask what this digital power meter swap entails....they know nothing of it, saying you've been a scam target.
