I have 16 Tacoma Off road double cab.

looking for smooth riding shock for fire roads washboard gravel light off road.
I do not carry much load. will not be putting heavy bumper on front. might step up from a 70 series tire to 75. but same wheels.
not looking to lift..

looking at fox anyone have experience. with long term durability of fox shocks in everyday driving?

Don't know anything about shocks other than the fact that the previous owner of my 95 Tacoma installed one of the rear shocks upside down. It seemed to work.

Shocks do nothing to support the weight of the truck. The support is from the springs. Shocks control bounce and rebound.

Best thing to do on washboard roads is to slow down before the washboard.

Suggest staying with OEM shocks. They are set up to give the best overall ride.

Fox imo, are more for off-road competitive use. They require periodic rebuilding to maintain good performance. I run their clickers on my snowmobile. Trick would be to get a set of ohlins for these trucks if they ever make them. When I raced bikes, and sleds I used them. They are the best, and last a long time before needing to be rebuilt.
On the other hand a set of kyb's work well for the money. More important is to run the right tire, and pressure for your truck.
