the climate crisis...

Another day, and still raining. I'm getting to feel like I'm on an island.
its abnormal for August here as well

the lawn is NEVER usually this green and in need of mowing sometimes twice a week
its usually all brownish and just tired looking in August from heat and not much rain
but it looked that tired way in June from NO rain in May
so it all evens out o_O

Pretty much the same here, except we've had our fair share of rain even during April through July. August so far has been crazy. Trying to maintain what's left in the garden is futile. Only the few stalks of sweet corn I planted are nearly ready to pick. The rest of the veggies look really soggy. Every week I keep cutting back brush from these evasive plants that seen to grow a foot every few days.

There is no climate crisis caused by human created CO2. It is physically impossible as the additional CO2 humans have added to the atmosphere can only trap so much extra heat. And that extra heat is 1% more heat than natural CO2 already traps.

At 180ppm of CO2 99% of COs heat trapping ability has already occurred. Adding 100PPM or 1000PPM will not increase the temperature on Earth by any measurable amount. But CO2 is plant fertilizer that makes our food grow better and with less water - both very good side effects of cheap, plentiful hydrocarbon energy, if you like people.

Brandon's claims he's going to have all this under control with billions of our tax dollars invested in his new carbon sucking facility. After this huge carbon sucking machine sucks up all the carbon, we bury it back in the ground where it can act as a contaminate to groundwater.

the little kids that have been schooled would very much disagree with you right there

they put CO2 into beverages to drink
wot'n tarnation is groundwater going to be seltzer water now?

I guess its when large amounts of carbon react with some of these other minerals thats already in our ground, it can become dangerous.
Co2 in small amounts won't hurt you when consumed. Large concentrations is deadly.

Unless the entire world does the same, it will never work. China and India are the worst polluters.

Co2 is NOT pollution. It is plant fertilizer.

And it is 1.5x heavier than air. It pools in low areas, get's absorbed by plant life. The reason that you have tree lines in the mountains is because above certain altitudes there is not enough CO2 for trees to grow and above that there are places where nothing grows. Not enough CO2.

The Earth's atmospheric CO2 levels have been on a very long term downward trend. At less than 180ppm we and everything else is toast. CO2 gets sequestered in the ground and thank God humans have come along at just the right time to be able to release enough of it (and gain cheap plentiful energy from it) to save the planet from becoming Mars.

All the Carbon sequestered in the ground used to be in the biosphere when the Earth was not an ice covered, dry, mostly barren planet. The planet was wet and lush with life everywhere. Not a bad place for living things and with carbon based life forms on every inch of the place.

The de-Carbon crowd are the death cult. they want to depopulate the planet and have talked about it for decades. Famines, energy reduction, lower standards of living lead to disease, pestilences and death for billions.

The little children aren't being educated. They are being indoctrinated. For all the gnashing of teeth that's going on, there is still not conclusive evidence that man made (if that's possible) carbon dioxide levels are significantly higher than at any time in the past. In fact there have been times when the levels were much higher due to natural events.

Oh, in case any one is wondering, the earth has a relatively finite mass. Yea a meteor may add a bit and we are sending a bit off planet with space shots, but it's pretty darned stable. The atoms of the periodic table of the elements can only be changed from one compound to another.

Oh and remember this. According to the same folks crying climate change (the same folks who until just recently called it global warming, and then we had a cooler few years) are the ones that told us the natually occuring hole in the ozone level would end all live on this planet. And that hole, daned if it didn't start shrinking again, just like it has opened and closed countless times since this rock formed.
