Undercoating

When you no longer have any coverage. Applying over rust thats already there won't stay as long needing frequent reapplying. Thats why cosmoline does its best when used on a new vehicle. After 5 years my truck is still mostly covered, except for spring touchups in the high abrasion areas like the wheel wells, and leafs. Still thats a huge improvement over stuff like fluid flim, or wool wax.
 
how do U know coverage
will it be noticeable to eye or do U need to feel upon it for the texture, etc?
this is for the amber and NOT the black stuff
 
I'll always apply 2 coats, an hr apart on rust free, freshly painted steel, but only when the temps are 70 degrees, or better. Doing it over surface rust seems the rust soaks in the spray like a sponge, and doesn't last. Whatever you do make sure the chassis your using this cosmoline on is dry, and spotless. Never spray cosmoline over a chassis that been already done with a lanolin inhibitor.
I've tried other cosmoline based aerosols like crc, but cosmoline rp-342 amber seems to be the best.

Do U hold a flashlight to it for coverage inspection
To check for wear of any
I recall putting on thick once the rubbery tar undercoating was fully removed in one section
The one I am inspecting in the air
 
I put some cosmoline on the driver's side outer frame last year on that red gen2
It originally had rubbery tar spray done at the dealer and I have been toiling at removing it little by little
Wanted to test the cosmoline coverage for wear after a year after application
I git sum pics tomorrow!
