Torch? for what? Gloves have nothing to do with it. Wool wax on chassis components is like handling thick grease...it gets on all their tools whether pneumatic, or not costing a lot of extra cleanup time for their next job. Who pays for it?....you do with a crummy job with a pissed off tech, and higher labor cost built into the bill.
At least with cosmoline, anything like paint thinner gasoline, or similar with a rag wipes it right away, making the job less painful for the service tech. I've worked on areas that I've coated with cosmoline, and had no issues like I did on my tundra using a lanolin based inhibitor like fluid film. That stuff gets all over you when I had replaced my trucks exhaust. Cosmoline basically ends up a dry waxy coating that doesn't get all over you if you need to work on something.
Btw, there's no rusty nuts, or bolts anywhere on my trucks undercarriage yet. I made sure their all well coated, and still coated with rp-342, so if I ever need to remove them...I won't need a torch.
