What did you do with your Taco today

Just got back from my usual Friday morning ggrocery shopping. Thought I parked in the wrong isle when I came out looking for my truck. A new full-size double cab gmc was parked in front of it blocking out my view where I left my truck....this gmc was ''uge''
 
I went to use my trucks fan this morning to dry up all the humidity wetness that collected inside my windshield. Had the fan on high, and very little air was blowing out.....wtf? Well...later this morning i pulled the new cabin filter I replaced not long ago to see what was going on. Sob, the filter was plugged solid with all this fluffy sorts of stuff, and green tree pollen. I shook out the filter. For now the fan is working way way better, but I really gotta buy another new cabin filter dam-it....there goes my beer money for this month.:mad:

I hit 5,085 miles so went ahead and rotated the wheels/tires. Everything else still good.

Hey, I'm a 71 year old fart....it'll likely be my last toyota truck. At any rate going to get the wife a new rave4 hybrid like my brothers this fall...shes love his rave4.

IMG_20240914_110725219~2.jpg picked up some wood chips about 1300 lbs. Gotta love the longbed,the next day I put 1560 lbs of washed masons sand in it for my backyard beach sitting fire pit area

I've got a 6' bed also....wouldn't have it any other way. Those 5' short beds are good for groceries. Back when my truck was about 2 weeks old I had 1300 lbs of concrete bags in the bed, plus towing my 5'x10' utility trailer loaded with a mixer, and other gear.....and toyota says not to tow anything for at least 1k miles. Trucks never run so good since.
 
Went grocery shopping the other day at a Big Y thats in the city where my shop is located.....parking area there was UGE. Out of all the parking places a 4wd gen1 black sr5 tacoma extra cab with gold graphics, and sharp gold wheels parks next to me. Guy gets out asking me where I got my truck from...said he followed me through town till I pulled in here. Oh boy, I'm thinking what does this guy want? Did I lose something off my truck that hit his? No, he was just inquiring where my truck came from saying there's none like it he's seen, that a friend of his has been looking for, but hasn't been able to find any that are the same. Told him about the same thing. I had to order the truck from a boston dealer back in 2020....none were available on dealer lots east of the Mississippi, so I had the dealer put in a request for it which took a little over 8 weeks to be assembled. At any rate these gen1 guys are something else, saying he's got more into restoring his sr5 than I probably paid for my truck. Told him to tell your friend, I wish him good luck in his search, my truck is not for sale, and left.
