What did you do with your Taco today

My taco does not have the gold it has the charcoal silver stripe tape

Never claimed it was you. This an older guy that basically had a brand new gen1 extra cab 4wd done custom how he wanted. I didn't ask what year, or what $$$ he had into it. Just proved to me to have a gen1 like that you have to be a very wealthy automotive shop owner, or an idiot with too much money......maybe both. Have to admit though, it was a very cool looking truck.

My truck is in need of a new battry, the one in there is completely shot to heck

My friend has a 2012 taco access cab with 40k it is still all original except battery and tires it's mint all black
 
I've seen dozens of mint looking gen2 tacoma's on the roads in nw connecticut, and ma, but I'd bet their undercarriages aren't so mint. Seeing mint looking gen1's are few and far in-between.
Recently turned 25k on my 2020 access cab. So far the battery is still right up there when I did a load test some weeks ago. Truck has been flawless, still running like my old v8 tundra without an addiction to gasoline.
 
Ran an errand to the bank yesterday to change the term limits on some ira cd accounts that came due. I couldn't believe it when I saw another perfectly mint gen1 silver single cab taco leaving the parking lot as I was arriving. No way was it all original. Someone did another complete body off restoration. I would guess they could have bought a couple new taco's for what was spent doing this one.
 
I did my second oil change on mine recently since I bought it. I was 11 miles short of 11,000 miles on the oil. I sent a sample to Blackstone Laboratories for analysis and it came back looking good.

I sent a couple oil samples for my tundra using mobil 1 5w30 to Blackstone that were taken at 15k miles. Both samples came back quoted ''keep doing what you're doing.' This bs you keep hearing, and reading on some of these forums will have you wasting money changing your oil every 3-5k miles. Todays high quality synthetics have additive packages that do not degrade at the rate your pops dino oil use to, plus engines today are designed to run much cleaner.
As far as my gen3 tacoma oci goes, its been 10k miles to.
Btw, today I drove my taco to torrington where my shop is located. I had a long meeting with my lawyer, and the city this afternoon. They have been after me ever since I reopened my well once I retired closing the business to the public. I've been threatened with all sorts of legal action if I don't return to city water.

DEEP greenies in Hartford have strict rules what cities here are allowed for any ground water contamination that the public can access like washing their hands in well water that has anything over 5 parts per billion of perk, that a nearby dry cleaners created 30 years ago when they contaminated the entire block. I've washed up in that water many times, and I'm still living. We've even told the cities lawyers my shop is closed to the public, but it doesn't seem to matter with them. I told them if I sell the building to someone else, I'll hook it back to the city water meter. You can't reason with these fools.

5 parts per billion is crazy strict. Can't believe they're still giving you grief over something that happened 30 years ago. Good luck dealing with the bureaucracy, hope you can resolve it without too much hassle.
 
The case is going to a judge next month, from all indications the judge will rule the city has no power to enforce what water I choose to use in my own shop as long as its not open to the public. I recently had my well tested, and reported the results to the state at 24 parts per billion of old perk. Problem is from what I been told, once the judgement has been rendered in my favor, the city will come after me for any future piss ant violations they can conjure up. The current mayor hates my guts already...I've had a feud with her for over 3 years now, and put her in her place every time. A city zoning officer I know well has warned me about her being very vengeful.
