What is the best year of the tacoma? Out of all of them??

^^^What he said. They all have their own quirks. 1st gens have frame rot and lower balljoint issues, 05 had engine mount issues, 05-07 trucks had a bad run of rear gears, 09 ditched the mechanical LSD and 12s have the wide mouth bass face.
 
An '08 because that's what I have. :w00t: But for real. Most of the early issues were worked out and it was before they added all the traction control garbage. Oh, and it's also BSP the best color!
 
07-08, best 2 years of second gen... IMO. like mentioned before, most of the kinks were worked out and it was before all the electronic BS they had to add.
 
About 6 months now, been just about completely through the drivetrain and no issues. All oils changed, color good, minor sludge on magnets, switched over to synthetic. Royal Purple in transmission/transfer case, Valvoline in diffs/motor. Frame is solid, no grinding in tranny, upshifts/downshifts smooth. Mechanical LSD rear grabs and takes off. Runs great. Has 51k on her, I got her with 46k. Mine was built towards the end of the '06 production run. Clutch is smooth and no squeaky. 4x4 hi/lo kicks in/out fine, no issues there. If there are any problems with her I have yet to find any. If there is I'll fix it, my 3rd Toyota P/U since '94, pretty easy to work on if you have a manual. Oh and no leaks.
A new clutch was installed at 44k and the spiral cable was replaced under recall before I bought it.
I've read all about the problems the '05/6 have had but everything works and all is tight. A buddy of mine has an '05 DCSB sport he bought new around the end of '04 fully loaded, only issue he has had was his fan motor resistor going out.
 
I have an 01 and I love it, but u can't go wrong with pretty much any year as long as its been well looked after.

85 tacoma 2hundred 75000 rebuilt eng new ex , from manifol back decent paint only 2 rust out either side front side bed 2 fingers wide repaired . 2nd hand farm truck got it for 2100. love it 2 wheel drive
 
Good Grief, everyone knows the 2001 Tacoma 4x4 is the most authentic, bullet proof Taco ever built! With one of these you'll become such friends you can just walk out of the house whistle, and she will come right over to you.:thumbsup::whistling2:
