I have a 2015 TRD OFF ROAD Tacoma that I bought brand new and am finally looking to lift it for off-roading. I want to get a four inch suspension kit on it and some 33 inch tires. I have been researching a bit and I am very confused. I see lots that have leaf springs and shocks, some that have coil overs or both or all and or neither of those things. Are they for different types of ride quality?

So, I want to lift it to go Off road. Mainly slow, semi-difficult (5-6 out of 10) rock crawling to get to hard to reach camping spots in the mountains, nothing too crazy. And the truck is my daily driver so I would want to have a smooth ride on road also. More so my daily than it is my camping ride. What are my suggestions? I have a friend with a vehicle lift so it will be a do it myself task. What should I get for around a $1,500-$2,000 kit? I’ll surely spend 2k on wheels and tires also.

An employee lifted his 2016 Taco with an Old Man Emu lift, and put bigger tires on it.
He's been happy with it except for the acceleration loss from the tires.
Didn't ask him what it cost.

I just installed the toytec ultimate lift with adjustable 5100s in the front and 700lb coilovers. I also went with a diff drop kit to save the CVs. [emoji51]

Went with a progressive add a leaf pack and toytec aluma 2.0 shocks in the rear.

It gave me around 3 inches. So far I’m pleased with it. I paid around $1600 total.

Your photo didn't make the transfer.[emoji53]

Here’s my ride. The install went fairly smooth, it has a smooth ride, no vibrations. I did install the driveline drop kit but not the front diff drop. I’m thinking I should?
I got 33’s on and got an alignment But it still pulls to the right some (though not nearly as much) I checked all my tire pressures so I don’t know what else can be wrong. Any ideas?

The truck looks good. I assume the truck didn’t pull to the right before the lift?

I put the 600lb toytecs on and my 2013 didn't even start to lean on a moderate curve. I bet the 700s are like a gocart for handling...

I plan on getting the heavy OME springs soon. I am going to add a bumper and winch and don’t want the extra weight to sag the front end

Give it a few months, it'll start to sway. Lol
I have the 650's on the boss struts with resi's and love them. No sway bar makes for more fun with nervous passengers. Lol [emoji38]

Re: Roll bars

Why dont you want a posi in your Blazer? Just asking as I just setup a new rear w/posi to put in my truck and Im wondering what the possible draw-back could be..??

For the mid range Ironman is a complete lift. I went with the Bilstein 6112 front , 5160 rear with the icon add-a-lift . a front diff drop kit, sway bar re-location kit, and a rear drive shaft drop kit.
SPC upper control arms. Duro bump stops front and rear. 275/70/177028234A-2FE1-4150-8E0D-F1E75286710A.jpeg

I have the R/C 3.5'' lift. I am super happy. Easy to install. My buddy a USCG Flight Mechanic and I did it over a weekend. Front on Saturday and rear on Sunday then took it for an alignment Sunday afternoon. I'm still using the factory size tires.20210930_180219.jpg20210322_185302.jpg

Your R/C lift , very nice. Vertex adjustable shocks, the way to go. The more I read about the Vertex shocks the more appealing it gets.
