I have a 2015 TRD OFF ROAD Tacoma that I bought brand new and am finally looking to lift it for off-roading. I want to get a four inch suspension kit on it and some 33 inch tires. I have been researching a bit and I am very confused. I see lots that have leaf springs and shocks, some that have coil overs or both or all and or neither of those things. Are they for different types of ride quality?
So, I want to lift it to go Off road. Mainly slow, semi-difficult (5-6 out of 10) rock crawling to get to hard to reach camping spots in the mountains, nothing too crazy. And the truck is my daily driver so I would want to have a smooth ride on road also. More so my daily than it is my camping ride. What are my suggestions? I have a friend with a vehicle lift so it will be a do it myself task. What should I get for around a $1,500-$2,000 kit? I’ll surely spend 2k on wheels and tires also.
