Windshield Issues on My Tacoma: Repair, Replacement, and Best Practices?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been dealing with some windshield concerns on my Tacoma, including small chips that seem to spread and possible fitment issues after a past replacement.

With how often we Tacoma drivers see rock chips and cracks on the road, I’m curious how you all decide when to repair versus replace, and whether you’ve had better luck with OEM glass versus aftermarket.

Also, what common mistakes should I watch for during install, like leaks or poor seals?

Any trusted shops or tips for keeping the windshield solid would be great.

thanks in advance for any help

Chips always lead to cracks. Depending on your state, and where those chips are on the windshield many glass companies won't repair a chip. Imo, just have a glass shop install a new windshield, and be done with it.

I've always had good luck with Safelite no leaks and good glass just check your insurance but in Massachusetts we can get it covered for cracks and get full replacement cuz it's a safety issue
