Gen2 rust porn

i am not sure what section of the truck that is!

Toyota may NOT warranty that for new frame replacement

If those pics are from your relative's '11 Tacoma, then it should be taken to the dealer pronto for a frame inspection. At least get it on Toyota records.

The frame warranty has an expiration date. It could be getting close to lapsing.

no, these are not pics from the '11 ... they are from elsewhere
my relative had the thickish tarish undercoating sprayed onit first thing after delivered from Minnesota in March 2o11 per the carFax recordings

its yet another thing on my plate todo list to remove that nasty stuff where there is showing rust underneath where the lift points pinched it in the past in the front area and inspect it and recoat whatever it needs

i have read that a 10mm sized hole must BE VISIBLE .. with NO poking or hammering to create a 10mm hole inna sketchy area

Then why do the toyota techs take a ball pean hammer to beat it against multiple points of the frame? Was told with my tundra if that hammer strikes a blow though a frame section, the frame has been compromised, and no longer safe.

that may have just been the procedure for the Gen1 tacoma and early Tundra?

Gen2 procedure may have becomea bit stricter in the warranty process? that the tech has to actually see a 10mm hole before even proceeding with further frame inspection

all parts of this Gen2 seem to crust over MUCH worse than the Gen1 tacoma... just open the hood and massive amounts of crust covered fasteners, its SICK

I am looking at that video with the bed pulled and thinking why in the F is THAT rusted, what kind of crappy or lack of coating did they put onto that piece before assembly

Gen2 looks more and more like CHEAPazz crappage everytime i see something aged... worse in some parts of the country than others no doubt, but its all the same dane thing, is it not?

1st thing in that video i spot are those nasty crusty screws for the headlight assemblies with the hood open
WTF

i already replaced those on my relatives '11 and sprayed them and coated threads with HV WW because when i removed them for replacement the ENTIRE threads down were caked in crusty

Reminds me of the time I had to remove the 10mm bolts in my tundras bed to take off the tail light lens assemblies to replace some burnt out bulbs. The fasteners in the bed those bolts screwed into were rusted bad, and had to be replaced to if I wanted to put those lens assemblies back in place.

Have you not leaned your lesson crawling around under trucks?...one of these days your going to get runned over.

Vellcome! Idk, about this trucks rust, but I came up on a black on black gen2 tacoma yesterday. There wasn't a section of that truck that something hadn't missed it. That truck was a mess, but it was still running
As far as the video, this is a typical tacoma frame after several years if you don't use some sort of rust inhibitor on the frame.

driving or parked in a puddle on the California coast is what caused it, according to Petr
