Bought my Tacoma Access Cab Jan 11, 2013
V6, 6-speed manual, 4x4, 46,776 miles in perfect condition from a Hyundai Dealership, (strange I know) 2nd owner. Toyota didn't have what I was looking for. Really happy with her, Got 13 inches of snow last Thursday so got to check out the 4wd then, needless to say I got around without any problems, blew thru the snowdrifts like nothing was there. Of course I had 400 lbs of sand bags in the bed and new A/T tires. :D

A little history, I had a 2000 Prerunner SR5 TRD I bought new but she succumbed to frame rot on Dec 17, 2012 with 84k on her. Toyota bought her back at 1.5 bluebook, I made 8k over what I paid for it. I was :) So bought my newer one, I'm very :D

I've enclosed a pic of my Prerunner and the new ride. Glad to be here, will stop in from time to time with updated pics after I have some mods done to her.

Welcome to Tacoma Forum!
My 2000 Tacoma was very similar to yours but without the access cab. Where do you live that your frame rotted out?

Anyways, your new truck is sweet. How do you like it compared to your old truck? All good/better or are there some things you miss?

Live in the Kansas City Metro area, Toyota had sent out letters about 2009 extending the frame warranty for 15 yrs due to issues with frame perforation. Apparently, they outsourced the frames to Dana 60 company for corrosion protection and didn't do a good job. Toyota sued and won, offered '95~00 owners a buyback & 2001~04 owners frame replacement. Gave you a free inspection, if failed they gave you a loaner and either bought it back or replaced frame. They bought mine back. Additional photo's of my PreRunner, it had black TRD stickers on the rear quarter panels hard to see but you can make them out barely and frame rot that ended its service. The photo of the frame rust is drivers side leaf spring in front of rear tire. Leaf spring was pulling away from frame.

I have other photo's but have to dig for them. I like the '06 better with 4x4 the PreRunner was 2wd. Comparing the 2 is hard, '06 manual trans, PreRunner auto. Tacoma is a little bigger than the PreRunner, stand a couple inches taller as well. Thanks for the complement on my new Taco. Both had V6, PreRunner was a smaller V6, get about the same mileage.

Heading to work this morning, pulled out of the garage and a little something on the ground to play in :)
Total of 9 inches on top of the 13 we already had.

This morning, plowed in and this Mexican was waiting for me wanting me to pay him to dig me a path, I told him he can dig all he wants after I go to work I wasn't paying him. He said you get stuck, I said no I won't, and left. Didn't get stuck.

They plowed again after I left for work and when I got home just drove up on it. Fri I'll park in the back yard, that will be the real test, steep hill and all snow hasn't been touched by a plow or shovel.

AC FTW! The tan will look bad ass with black accents or bumpers.

Been thinking about the black accents since seeing a few of your trucks posted, 1st is a lift kit. So far the only thing I've done was get rid of the leather ergonomic shift knob and put on the TRD shift knob. I like it much better. I've only had it a month, but have a list of things I want to do to it.

looks good, I might swap shifters eventually. Not a priority tho.

I did it because I didn't want the leather one to fray out at the stitching (read and seen photo's of that) mines in great shape, and the ball shifter feels more like what I'm used to.
