RECALL

Just an update,,,,,scheduled my recall,go to the Dealership,1st appointment of the day.. They had 9 days to order parts and prepare for my appointment.check in at 725 am,,wondered around showroom, then headed outside looking at all there vehicles.Go around the back of building,THERE SITS MY TRUCK,,it’s now 745-750am,. Walk inside ready to ask questions. Now the Recall is for 2016 through 2020 I believe,,,Service advisor and service manager find me to tell me my 2017 Tacoma is the first truck they’ve seen with a Different Locking Collar on the tank!!
What a load of crap!! So I said ,”in 25 minutes, your machanic drove my truck in,put it on the lift, dropped the tank, removed the exiting collar/pump,,put it back together and parked it!! Don’t think they ever ordered parts from manufacture!! Told me they would have by Wednesday,,,haven’t heard from them yet! Any opinions,? Would you guys go back? Or find another Dealer?

Did you buy you're taco new? If not, possibly a previous owner put an aftermarket tank on it as a damage repair. The locking collar should have nothing to do with the fuel pump itself, just the fuel tank. It sounds to me like they just overbooked for the day or just didn't order the parts, or as a favor to a friend used you're pump for someone else. I would definitely voice my displeasure with their service.

I’m am the one and only owner. I would assume the didn’t order the parts. They told me Wednesday they would have the “COLLAR”. It’s Thursday night,,not even a phone call.. I will be stopping by to speak with the general manager or owner
If the "collar" was the problem I'm thinking they tried removing the old collar with hammer and chisel instead of the proper spanner wrench. The reason they never seen one like that was they never seen one that f...ed up before. Because they messed that one up trying to get it off it couldn't be reinstalled even if they did get it off so they had to order a new one. Hopefully they get this all sorted out.
