welcome to the taco adventure!...
this is my old truck of 25+ years aged, the picture is from a couple of years back...
it currently has almost 262k miles. (now has 275k on 31-Okt-2o22) (now 296k on 4-11-23)(now 313k on 7-4-23) (now 337k on 24-Okt-2o23)

Harbor Freight 21-Okt-19 sized down.jpg

The truck is still on the original clutch parts, except for the hydraulic master/slave that was replaced last year because that 3rd pedal would not fully return from near the floor after reversing backwards, and had to pull it back up proper with the toe!
the clutch bearing is making a wee bit of chatter, but nothing too pesky at the moment, awhile back it was diagnosed as the source of this insane gremlin rattle that popped up a few years ago (more ranting on that later!!)

it also has diffrent shoes onit currently... truckin' with Michelin defender LTX, which are MUCH less road noisy on the concrete trails than those GoodYear duraTrac are, but the Michelins are not great wheelin' in the blizzards like those duraTracs were

So I started with this black aluminum oxide and the blast outofabucket setup.
The Project going nowhere in a hurry... That chassis primer put on a couple years ago did not come off easily as the rotten Toyota coating did, which is a good thing I reckon!
But it's chipped a bit with that rusty dimple in spots so it needs a redo

Got this far...

This tool setup with some sanding drums maybe worth a try for the full removal of that chassis primer without that blasting media shooting back at I getting everywhere!
Gonna cost the truck some more coin
I will have some other uses for it on the porch, so that is a bonus

Found this grease on muffler
Looks like it came from driveshaft slinging it
Should I be concerned?
IMG_20220710_115355_361.jpg it's on the fuel tank side as well

Juiced up the taco today with 77$ of the finest of shell fuel with the ethanol blended 87 octane
17.7 gallons got the rig another 460 miles to 261757
Haven't juiced it up since the end of June I reckon
Added 6oz of that yellow lucasOil fuel treatment
That stuff dispenses so much smoother at 95F temps than it does at near or below freezing temps, go figure!

i cannot tell if its visible in this picture of where exactly the cushion is supposed to go, the old one might have fallen out (I did not know what it was at the time found on the mat)

... how much nasty foreign road particle matter do you reckon can get into this unplugged opened rear brake drum peep hole over a 4k mile stretch on paved roads (for the most part)

17.8 gallons of 87 octane got the rig another 460 miles (again) to 262217
i am still on the hunt to get a 500 mile onna full tank... is it impossible feat 2 do?

Picked up a new roadmap so I don't get lost wheelin' on those treacherous hawkEye trails

carFax records indicate the last engine coolant full exchange done 144k miles ago, the radiator and block was drain/fill at timing belt/water pump schedule 65k miles ago
so i should get the whole system cleaned and filtered out, plus check condition of that lower radiator hose that is still the original one, the top sprung a nasty leak 144k miles ago when the coolant system was purged last several years back
got that scheduled with a 10 per cent coupin for next week on the 27th...
