Royals 7-4 over the Phillies last nite...:mad:
Honestly Phillies been kinda on a free fall since the All-Star break. With the big names they have their offense been flat saying it mildly. Not taking anything any from the Royals, they're a very good team.
 
KC is scheduled to start playing tougher teams in the playoff picture, so you'll see how they really stack up. They've been playing a lot of chumps up till now.
 
KC is NOW 1 game behind Cleveland for 1st place in Central and have a looming 4-game series against them IIRC
Phillies look to be NO Chumps
 
Phillies haven't been that strong in the 2nd half of season so far. Imo, arizona, the brewers, and braves have consistently been tougher than other teams in their respective divisions. American league central is not a strong division. It's going to depend who stays hot for the remainder of the season, and stays hot in the playoffs.

Phillies got off to a fast start, but haven't been that great the 2nd half of the season. Imo, they're just coasting along on what they did earlier. There's some pretty decent teams right now that can be spoilers.

The second half of the season is what counts..... well unless your the White Sox's.
But yea the Phillies had a big lead (and best record) at a point but you can't coast to long without putting your foot back on the peddle.
