noticeable increase in fuel consumption, losing 50 tacoMiles per tank of tacoJuice... what is going on?

Yeah, I know these gen3's haven't as wide a wheelbase as those gen1 tundras. My wife thats about 5'4'' hated parking the tundra, and refused to use it unless it was the last vehicle there was to drive. She now can't get enough of the tacoma once she tried it.
The jury is out for me with scoops for trucks, personally I think they look ridiculous, especially when not functional, but to each their own. I had to have a scoop on my old 66 gto drag car in order to close the hood over the high rise intake manifold with dual 500 cfm quads, but thats a whole other episode.

That's funny cuz my wife used my tundra a lot she hates the scoop on the Taco cuz the hood has a good 2-2.5 bump up over a none scooped hood. The tundra hood dropped off a lot more so it was much easier to look over. I had a '67 gto 400 4spd in school turquoise and black vinyl top black gut 10" aluminium slots out back with L-60 Mickey Thompson's and 4.5 on the front with skinnys and 90-10 drag shocks it was fun. We sold it and it got burned for insurance money but he got figured out and never got money from it .what a butthead

My wife hated my tundra simply cuz she just couldn't seem to park it in a tight space, unlike the tacoma. Idk, about being able to see with these tacoma's with a hood scoop...especially your thats a long bed. Never tried one that had both. All I can say is, I have no issues with seeing over the hood on mine.
My 66 gto was tan, and a hardtop. It to had 90/10 front drag shocks, and welded on ladder bars, with a 9'' rear differential to keep it alone from wheel hopping. I ran a nascar 421 super duty engine shipped from down south that came from a pontiac nascar race team that campaigned 1963 catalina's. It was backed up with a muncie close ratio 4 speed with cut gears to crash shift it.
I ended up parting the car out in the late 70's. Never heard where everything ended up, including all the spare parts. A local speed shop bought a bunch of the stuff.
