Thats all it does at this time of year, plus we got a huge dump of snow in march thats melted within a few days. My yard is a muddy sponge. I can't even walk back there without some sort of boots. Even the lake here has been at its highest level. You must've gotten some real quality spring rain
Back in late December of last year we had some pretty deep frost, but little snow. By feb, all the frost was out of the ground. March brought all the snow, and with the ground not frozen anymore, its been mud city. My house was built in the 70's, most around me have been torn down, and rebuilt with the yards being graded higher. I'm lower than most, plus I have the swamp to my north, and west. Seems all the water settles in my yard every spring. I guess it's a price you pay for having a lake front home.Meanwhile we never even got a frost line. Bummer.
Only these pita tiny bugs that don't bite, but seem to fly in you mouth, and up your nose. The real bad no-seeums will come out a couple weeks later. The skeeters will be out later, mostly in the evening. They're not too bad.Any skeeters with that lake??
Those dandelions don't grow in the arid desert do they?On

Right now I'm doing dandelion control...those pesky little yellow flowers have been blooming everywhere in the yard this spring.
Get some 2-4-D. Its a broadleaf herbicide. Wipes out all sorts of weeds but won't touch the grass. On
