How often do you park beside another Tacoma….

Either or is fine, I use both all the time
St Louis is decent overall or I've spent way too much time there

Quick question; Do you all say 1st gen or gen1, 2nd gen or gen2, etc, etc. The reason I ask is I just got off the phone with my Navy son (the one that bought a 2005 Tacoma with major frame rust) as he's driving from Virginia Beach to St Louis tonight, and he kept referring to not only his Tacoma, but all Tacomas as in "gen1, gen2, gen3", where I was referring to Tacomas as 1st gen, 2nd gen, 3rd gen, etc. I'm not trying to get down in the weeds on this but I really want to go with the flow of what to call them to fairly communicate proper terminolgy with all Tacoma owners. Im a generation X and he's a generation Millennial and maybe that has something to do with it. What do you guys call a Toyota Tacoma by generation ?
Gen X here as well! I always say 1st gen, 2nd gen and 3rd gen! Don't guess it really matters though!

What a day for 1st gen's. Holy cow I must have spotted four or five today. I was honored enough to pull up along side three of them today. The first was an 02-03-04 SR5 that was right across the street from a HomeWood Suites hotel. Lots of chrome which I love and had some oxidation going on but very common in the hot Texas sun. Absolutely love the white lettering on the tires. Wish mine had those.

The next one I saw today was at Home Depot and yes, this is another mans working truck. Another "vertical grill" SR5 Tacoma. I don't what that rack on top is called but it's like having a headache-rack, Ladder-rack, and Overland-rack all rolled into one. So freaking cool. And look at all the crap he has stuffed in that 5-foot box ! I love this pickup truck man !

And finally, on my way home I stop off at the car wash and spot a 1995 Ex-cab Gold Tacoma just like my oldest son had when he was in High School. Got a closer look and it was an automatic and dark windows (so yeah not my sons previous Tacoma). As a fellow Tacoma owner I don't know if I'm embarrassed or proud of all the damage done to this sweet ride. This ole boy looks like he's been in three or four wrecks and the owner never cleaned him up. But at least he's still on the road.

Yeah I see what you mean about that rack! Way cool! Wonder if he designed and built it himself or something??!! I've never seen a rack quite like that before!

Wow ! Didn't realize how close this 2gen Blue Ribbon color is to the 3gen VooDoo Blue. Good looking SR5 with steel wheels and nice chrome rear bumper.

So there I was at the Cinemark theatre today and spotted two, yes two gorgeous Barcelona Red gen3's. One was an SR5 and the other one was an OR with those regional badges "TSS" off-road markings (I still don't get that". Both very good looking pickup trucks. :)

Did you take a peek inside to see what the mileage of those rigs are getting up to?

Saw a Tundra with the TSS off-Road markings today myself! Was wondering what that means?

And then on my way home from Ash Wednesday service today I spot this Toyota Dolphin. I don't know anything about these magnificent beasts but my Uncle in Colorado had a brand new one in 1982. They were made by Toyota for about 10 years and this one is in excellent condition.

I haven't seen one of those truck/RVs in years! That one looks to be well maintained!

My cousin is a mechanic and at one time he was talking about getting one of those Toyota box trucks to use for a mobile mechanic business, he even knew where he could get one! Unfortunately his mom was in Arizona and had had a massive heart attack that messed her up really bad so he had to give up that idea to go take care of her, he's a paid caregiver for her now!

Ok this one's crazy. So today I stop by Wendy's on my way home for a 99¢ Frosty when I spot this well-traveled gen1 with the vertical bars grill parked in front of Starbucks. Definately a working mans truck with the camper shell and ladder rack. But he has license plates from the state of Maine ! That's a 31 hour drive or 2,085 miles to Corinth, Texas. I guess there's not enough work up North so he's looking for some down here in Texas. Wow….
