Older gen1, and 2 taco chassis are no different if left untreated. Frames start rotting from the inside. By the time you notice it...it's too late.

Nope, just plenty of surface rust. I fluid flimed it every fall till I sold it to a friend of mines auto repair shop. He checked it out before he sold it off to his customer....said the frame itself was in very good shape...it just needed a bunch of secondary repair work that didn't have anything to do with the frame. The parking brake system needed replacement though.
Our prius is fine...in the process of installing new struts, and rear shocks.
