It’s been in Montana it’s entire life so it’s had it’s fair share of road salt. Right now it’s sitting at 211000 miles. I have heard negative things about painting the frame and trapping moisture. Is fluid film something u could apply yourself or do you need to take it to a shop?

i was unaware that Montana uses fair amount of road salt??

i did not notice much anyhow when i was wheelin' through there about a year ago after a big winter event had passed
looked like mostly sand on the roads i wheeled upon and little slushy slop that i normally see in the great plains midWest region

I spray my used motor oil on the frame. Beats taking it to the recycler, and I've already paid for it. Nothing like double duty for $$$ spent.

Don't tell the greenies that. Used motor oil has some real bad stuff in it...one way or another it gets in our environment which is a lot worse than these rust inhibitors.

my rigs mudflap bolts have seen a sh!itton of roadsalt and YET no crusty rusty AT ALL on 'em mudFlap bolts
