noticeable increase in fuel consumption, losing 50 tacoMiles per tank of tacoJuice... what is going on?

I can tell you one thing, this heat is delivering good fuel economy to my tacoma. It just sails along in this warm air effortlessly. 1750 rpm at 70 mph barely touching the go pedal. Generally my dash fuel gauge is fairly accurate within a couple tenths...currently its just a smidgeon past 23 mpg.
Your problem is feeding your engine with some sort of taco juice.....try gasoline it ignites better.
Btw, the more you needlessly wear out an engine, efficiently slowly drops. That equals lower mpg. Plus compounded with winter fuel you're now using. I hope you can understand that.

Any amount of bs is possible...are you fouling plugs?...can't start your truck? (which I doubt), that would be a sure sign the plug installed is too cold causing a rich condition...otherwise they'd have to be so different your engine wouldn't run, or the plugs used had the wrong reach which would likely damage your engine. I seriously doubt the sparkulaters are the issue.
My guess the amount of year in, and out driving wear, and tear has slowly worn out your engine, along with the fuel system, and electrical associated components causing an accumulated loss of efficiency.. It's why they make new vehicles. You must understand that by now, everything has a self life.

why they make new vehicles that are just plain nasty lookin!?!? all started with that Gen2 redesign and lost the whole classic look LMAO
and it kept getting worse and worse and worse as the time marched on...
no more compact pickups, too big all around too nasty and Cheap AF parts they made them out of

i have spent now 20 years looking at the crappy BS they put out on the lots to sale for now obscene prices

What can be said other than you fall into the oddball category that can't accept change. Most thought the gen2 was a vast improvement in the tacoma styling, the gen3 had even more aggressive good looks. As for the gen4, I have some agreement that I think toyota went a bit too far with its exterior styling, but if this has positive effects on fuel economy, and wind noise, I'll accept it for what it looks like. I wouldn't derate the gen4 till you've taken a test drive in one. Imo, it performs better than it looks. For someone that has a tired worn out tacoma, and wants to stay with toyota to begin a new chapter, I think the gen4 will be still a good choice, although you might not like the initial cost, or the maintenance down the road, but this is where the entire auto industry has been pushed to go.
Just read whats happened to Nissan. A buddy of mine recently bought a frontier a couple years ago, and is crapping his pants his frontier may become worth zilch.
