I ran my truck at our local strip last week. I beat 2 powerstrokes a celica and 2 stock Hondas haha. And a s10. And got pulled by a tuned and straight piped duramax. 20 bucks for as many runs as you can. It's pretty fun even tho the taco isn't fast. As for my exhausts I just cut my muffler off

Yeah but why take a step in the wrong direction even if it was a little step? I was in your shoes before with my Ranger. I pulled the rear section off and thought I was cool guy but in the end it was really annoying. It was so annoying I bolted up the stock exhaust and I was much happier with stock.

Well I'm not building a race truck, and I like the sound now. When I start getting more money and go the "performance" route I'm sure ill change it. I still want to turbo at some point. For now I like it how it is.

It may not be a race truck but normal street driving is low to mid RPM.

So if you put the hammer down you wouldnt accelerate as fast? And do a lot of people hang at the track and is it bad for your engine?

You don't have that low end power to get going until you get up in the revs.
Yes racing your vehicle will shorten the life of it.
