How often do you park beside another Tacoma….

Just came back from giving my brother a lift to pickup his 1977 trans am that he had a whole bunch of service done to it. On the way back home I was in the back of a gen3 Georgia plated white tacoma 4x4 that was rigged with dual exhaust. It sounded like crap every time this guy got on it. It made a diesel sound good. Truck itself was nice.

Yeah dual exhaust only sounds good on a V8, on a 4 cyl. it definitely sounds like crap! Even on a V6 it sounds a little crappy, maybe not as much as on a 4 cyl. though! Never been a fan of that sh*t myself!

Pulled into Buc-ee's today for gas and spotted this pretty gen3. I have no idea what trim package it is because of the after market rims but the owner is definitely a female. Cool looking mural of the Rocky Mountains on the rear fenders.

Nice looking rig TexasBigBlue! I can see what you mean definitely female owned, you can tell by the decals on the rear window!

Which Buc-ee's location is it? My little 20 yr. old cousin works at the one in Terrell!

Niiiiiice. This Buc-ee's is in Denton. Still relatively new, opened in October 2018, about the same time I moved back to Texas.

Is this a Unicorn find or not ? When Toyota released their step-side pickup truck in 2001 I really didn't appreciate it until recently. There are no more step-side pickups anymore and I would love to know the back story of this one. Was this the only year Toyota made a Tacoma step-side ? Just look at the steps built into the frame., i.e., running boards. You can actually stand on either side of those gorgeous fenders on the OUTSIDE of the bed. So freaking cool.
I've seen 1st gen stepsides before, not sure what year(s) they were made though! They seem to be pretty rare! They look pretty cool I think!

Wouldn't you know it that 1st gen I posted on here yesterday was still parked in the same spot today but the big bad obs F350 was still parked next to it on the passenger side, the Jeep was gone and nothing was on the driver side! Ugh! Damn it!!! Oh well I'll keep trying!

This has got to be the Unicorn of all Tacomas. I was in line at the Lowe's garden center this morning and spotted this unbelievable Maroon gen1 SR5 step-side access cab. It looked like it just rolled off the assembly line. Front & rear chrome bumpers, chrome nerf-bars, and original rims. And it's a 5-speed manuel ! Why did Toyota stop making step-side pickup trucks ? Man I miss these gen1's.

Nice truck TexasBigBlue! I think those things are pretty rare! I'm sure they're probably worth some huge $$$$$!

Went to cvs this afternoon to pickup my meds. While pulling in a silver rave4 parks next to my truck. I go in for about 10 minutes to pickup my cholesterol pills. When I come out, there's bird poop everywhere on my truck, and not a bit on the rave4....no trees or wires overhead either. Sob, this the umpteenth time I've gotten bombed, and had to hose bird poop off my truck when I get home. There's something about the quicksand color that seems to have a crappy effect on birds. They would rarely hit my gray tundra, but this current taco is a magnet.

That sucks! Hope you hadn't just washed it right before it got bird sh*t on it, that'd really suck!

Now I'm really pissed off. I hosed all the bird droppings off my truck last evening. I go out to my get in my truck to run an errand this morning a few minutes ago, and it's covered worse than ever with bird poop. WTF? This is ridiculous. There's no trees or wires anywhere.

The truck was farmed off by the dealer when I ordered the truck to a simonize franchise detailing shop where they applied some sort of deep ceramic glass like coating to the exterior paint. All I know it was there for 2 days while they went through the exterior, and interior of the truck. I've got a lifetime warranty for both if any issues like tree sap, pollen, bid poop, coffee spills, etc that happen to the truck that causes damage to it. So far after more than 3 years it still looks great.

So my days of monster tires and lift kits expired about 30 years ago but the owner of this gen2 SR5 did it right. Just a little 1" or 2 inch lift kit and mildly bigger tires is in good taste for me. The chrome rear chrome bumper and running boards accent the MidnightBlack exterior, with a good looking subdued bull bar. Rims aren't bad either.

I read somewhere on the internet Toyota will offer an "all chrome" package on the 2024 SR5. I got news for ya fellas….That 80's chrome is back !
