a new chapter begins... the road to 400k

If it is buggard it's only 105$ to change at the yota dealer 100 up the river

You gotta relax, and focus on doing the job correctly whatever time it takes. Some of these old vehicles can be down way longer. A few years ago, I took the 4 barrel carb off my brothers old trans am to be sent out, and rebuilt. He had that car sitting apart for nearly month till I got the carb back.

GLA!
2ft breaker busted my shoulder on the drain plug, but it popped with a LOUD bang

1/2" new hex10 would NOT fit into the fill plug area

was short 16oz somehow in that front diff
that's like a WHOLE 1/2 quart!

Maybe leaking?

perhaps... but 1/2 qt is major leaking in a thousand+ miles
i think they did not check level and refill to full or just change it because obviously the FSM was NOT followed... STEP 2

so i bot this for that front diff and didn't even need it or could not use it because of clearance issues
can i use it elsewhere? if not then out a dozen dollars

service spec from FSM on front diff
pg. 1070 SA-40

fill plug - 39 Nm
drain plug - 65 Nm

i do not have torque wrench to fit the fill so german torque spec is adequate??

capacity is 1.22 US Qts OR 1150 mL

Stubby for the win on that middle splash shield skid bolt and nut

Now Must figure how to helicoil them nuts threads so can can put it back up underneath there

Or just leave it off for 2k miles until rack and LCAs service at end of November and have a pro doit
???

I assume you checked the oil level with the truck sitting on a level surface.
Mostly level!

Front Wheels been off and on stands at minimum height required to remove wheels with tires

Much more accessible for i to shoulder under and squirm around on shoulder

Had to fill bottle back up to 30 oz and squeeze it up at angle again for another 14 oz
Repeated for another 10oz

a video of the pull drain plug...
