a new chapter begins... the road to 400k

have u seen gen1 taco and gen3 4runner LBJ failures...
No, but seen results of some gen1 tundra's had ball joint failures causing the entire wheel assembly to cave in, with loss of steering. I never had that issue with my 2001, but later 2002, and 3's were noted for it.

old clutch be gittin' funky nearing 337k, about 100 more miles 2go
think it is done 4 finally

37 per cent journey completed :)
Wheeled it into Sioux city on a brisk October morning with steam on the mighty MO crossing

This was approximately 1940 good taco miles
I forgot how long that wheel actually was nearly six months ago

no, i just wheeled it down the middle of the city centre trying to not get lost lol
all kinds of signs in French

Should have spent some time checking out the city...the old, and the present Quebec City. They have some great restaurants, and casino's .

i can always go back now that i know my way around the freeway and to get across the river
the only ish is getting across the international border
my driving license is up for renewal this year so perhaps they will issue those special IDs here this time because its currently not one of those

So is 36 ft lbs a massive amount of torque to undo fill plug on rear diff
TY.

I should be able to break that with a 2ft breaker bar, no,?
The 36 ft lbs

A 10 year old could crack that plug with a basic 1/2'' ratchet. 36 ft lbs is nothing. Try removing the jam nut on a Polaris P-85 primary clutch...its 230 ft lbs.

Well damned be the guy that over torqued this 60k miles ago
I could not get it to budge
Rust should not be much of an issue or I cannot see it
Soak in pb blaster and get air impact out on Saturday and save 106$ minus cost of diff gear oil

Got the cost estimate today on full valve cover reseal on 5vzfe
It's nearly 900$ o_O

a little math. 36 ft lb = 2 foot * 18 lbs

you only need to generate 18 lbs......unless some knucklehead did a gorilla job

There was a new crush washer put on 60k ago
Perhaps that was put on dry and now seized?

Or I cannot generate that 18lbs hobbled under on my shoulder with not much room to swing the breaker no leverage
I thot this was a simple DIY task :(

You can get a passport to, and keep it updated when you need to...I think its every 5 years.
