It's making the type of puller needed thats the bigger issue needed. You need to try 4hi first to see if the vibration is still there.
 
i would have to drive 4Hi on dry pavement
will it vibrate if its needing repaired on that surface?

there is some sandy i could wheel on the Missouri riverbed about 50 miles outside of town to the north

If it doesn't vibrate in 4hi the needle bearing is bad. Just find a straight stretch of road, and flip it in 4hi, then note if you have vibration.

Ehhh...
Took a 20 mile freeway drive in 4 hi 60 to 70mph
4th and 5th gears
Only vibe feeling was at 1.75k to 2.25k rpms cruising at 60mph climbing them Iowa hills
 
Got 400 miles on that front diff fluid change
Need to crack the fill check level and see what it is
 
Checked diff level it good with a dribble
German movement on the fill plug is good 2 go
Will check in another 500 or so
 
dafuq wuz that noize in the clutch today sitting at the stop sign waiting on crosstraffic to make a leftie
whatta nasty noise it was
